LOGLINE:
Lost in a hole of complex grief, a once promising young painter attempts to meet a looming gallery deadline by recording his increasingly disturbing dreams.
SYNOPSIS:
Jake is a young painter. He lives alone out of his studio. He never has to worry about bringing work home with him, it’s always there. It’s been a long time since he’s painted anything that hasn’t ended up on the pile of abandoned canvases collecting in a dark corner of his studio. Something has Jake stuck, a complex grief that begins to reveal itself in bizarre and disturbing ways as Jake doggedly perseveres with his last-ditch attempt to draw some work out of himself – documenting his increasingly troubling dreams on an old tape recorder – in time for a looming gallery deadline. As Jake routinely mines his disturbed psyche in the faint hope of uncovering something he can finally put on the blank canvas that haunts his studio, he unwittingly draws himself closer to the grief he’s trying with all his being not to feel, and the person he never thought he could face.
